Our Advanced Rigging Training Course offers the most comprehensive instruction available, designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of industry professionals. Attendees will learn advanced rigging techniques and calculations to ensure proper application of rigging principles through proven, industry-backed methods used by thousands of experts.


Program Overview:


This course is intended for individuals who have completed the Qualified Rigger & Signalperson training and possess a solid foundation in rigging concepts and hands-on experience with rigging operations. Participants will deepen their understanding of job planning, load stability, crane dynamics, and advanced rigging strategies. Key topics include hardware selection, sling configurations, load turning, and leveling techniques.


Course Overview:


The program combines technical theory, practical hands-on training, and required examinations to meet OSHA standards. It emphasizes the proper use and pre-use inspection of rigging gear, slings, and below-the-hook lifting devices. Additionally, it covers essential topics such as:


  • Lift plan implementation
  • Load calculations and stability
  • Single and multi-crane lifting techniques
  • Critical lifts and engineering considerations
  • Application of equalizer beams and load movement on inclined planes


Participants will also learn how load weight and center of gravity affect stability and how to apply these principles in real-world rigging scenarios.


Course Topics Include:


  • OSHA Regulations: ยง1926.1400 and 1910
  • Slings (All Types): Application and proper use
  • Rigging Hardware: Safe selection and use
  • Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices
  • Sling Hitches: Proper application and D/d ratio considerations
  • Sling & Hardware Rating Charts
  • Bridle Sling Angle Calculations: Stress verification and load weight distribution
  • Load Weight and Center of Gravity Calculations
  • Sling Angle Stress Calculations
  • The Fall Zone: Safety precautions for personnel


Specific Training Objectives:


  • Conducting pre-use inspections of slings and rigging gear
  • Selecting suitable slings and gear for the job
  • Applying appropriate hitches for specific tasks
  • Calculating sling tension and load center of gravity
  • Using rigging tools and equipment common in the industry
  • Utilizing the Riggers Pocket Guide (provided during the course)


Eligibility for Advanced Rigging Training:


This course is designed for those who wish to elevate their rigging knowledge and expertise beyond the basics. Completion of the Qualified Rigger & Signalperson course is required before enrolling in Advanced Rigging.


Participants should come prepared for the hands-on portion by wearing standard job site attire, including long pants, shirts with sleeves, and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and work boots).
