Program Description:

The intent of this specially designed program is to provide extensive, quality, up-to-date information required for the management of toxicologic problems.

This program is intended for physicians, pharmacists, nurses and other health care providers who routinely care for poisoned patients.



Course Objectives:

At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to

  1.  Describe and identify the pros and cons of newer formulations and medications used in the treatment of opioid excess
  2.   Describe and identify treatment approaches for pitfalls in using psychedelics in patient care.
  3.   Describe and develop a rational management approach for patients presenting with odors, envenomation, dermatology toxicology, antidotes, decontamination, counterintuitive treatments and agents of terrorism. 

 


Accreditation

SUNY Upstate Medical University is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)  to provide continuing medical education for physicians.


Credit Designation

SUNY Upstate Medical University designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
