Basic Crypto Course (BCC)
This two-and-a-half-day course is for those who require an overview of cryptography and cryptographic services. The course is broken into the following four sessions: Overview of Cryptography, Symmetric Key Cryptography, Public Key Cryptography & Side Channel Attacks. A particular emphasis throughout the course is the differences between symmetric key and public (asymmetric) key cryptography. The assumed mathematical background is minimal; however, mathematics underpins nearly all aspects of cryptology (cryptography and cryptanalysis) so some mathematics is required. The necessary math topics are provided in read-ahead materials and are reviewed in the course. Class sizes are limited to 24 students.
