Course Completion Certificate
If you registered for the conference and you attend all sessions of the Scholer Peterson Concrete Conference you will receive a course completion certificate. It remains your responsibility to verify with your state/or governing agency/or professional development committee that this course completion certificate will be accepted.
Parking
Parking is complimentary at K-State Olathe parking lots.
Refund Policy
If you must cancel your registration, please do so as soon as possible. Substitutions are accepted. Registration fees, less a $50.00 processing fee, will be refunded if notice is received in the registration office on or before Thursday, March 31, 2022. Due to guarantees we must give prior to the program; refunds are not available if notice of cancellation is given after the deadline. To cancel or modify your registration, please send a written request to scholer-peterson@ksu.edu with the program name in the subject line. Registrants who do not cancel their registration by the deadline are responsible for the total registration fee even if they do not attend the event and have not paid the registration fee.
Cancellation Policy
Kansas State University may cancel or postpone this program because of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If the program is canceled or postponed, registration fees will be refunded but we cannot be held responsible for other costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies. Registration fees will not be canceled, and refunds will not be issued if the program is held but the registrant is unable to attend due to travel delays or cancellations caused by inclement weather, or due to other extraordinary circumstances beyond the control of Kansas State University.
Special Assistance
Participants who need accommodations due to a disability or who have special dietary requirements should indicate services needed at the time of registration. Please allow up to two weeks advance notice to arrange for accessibility needs. Early notification is requested to ensure appropriate accommodations can be provided. About the Conference
Charles H. Scholer, former professor and head of the Department of Applied Mechanics at Kansas State University, was for many years an outstanding researcher, educator, and consultant to the concrete industry.
Charles Scholer was past president of the American Concrete Institute and the Kansas Engineering Society. He received the Distinguished Service Award of the Highway Research Board in 1948, the Award of Merit of the American Society of Testing Materials in 1960, the Turner and Wason Awards of the American Concrete Institute and, in 1964, was named Kansas Engineer of the Year.
Loyd Peterson has devoted over 50 years to the construction and concrete industries in Kansas. As a K-State Civil Engineering graduate, he started his training with Martin K. Eby Construction and then served 30 years in promotion and educational work with Portland Cement Association. In semi-retirement Loyd has been a Concrete Consultant in both private practice and for Monarch Cement Company.
Loyd Peterson founded and guided the Scholer Conference in the early years and played a major role in all of the concrete associations in Kansas. No one person has had such a long and positive impact on the Kansas concrete industry.
