YOUR Washington Department of Veterans Affairs LGBTQ+ Veterans Program is offering no-cost workshops as part of the Ally Program. These are interactive sessions that prepare veteran service providers with information to better serve LGBTQ+ veterans and family members.
The program consists of 3 workshops:
Upon completing all 3 workshops, you will be identified as an Ally for LGBTQ+ veterans. Someone that is committed to observing inclusive practices and providing a safe space to serve LGBTQ+ Veterans with dignity and respect. Your name/agency will be added to a list that veterans and other service providers can access on the WDVA website.

About the Presenter: Robin is the LGBTQ+ Veterans Outreach Coordinator for YOUR Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA). She connects LGBTQ+ veterans to their earned benefits, services, programs, resources, and information to promote their economic security and financial stability. Additionally, she is helping to shape Washington laws for the LGBTQ+ and veteran communities through advocacy and recommendations to the Legislature. Robin started as a private (medic), completed the Green to Gold from and retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel (Medical Service Corps 70D). She served in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan as well. Prior to joining WDVA, Robin worked at the Washington Military Department, where she headed up Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Security for the State of Washington. Robin retired from the Army in 2015, where she last served as the Chief Information Officer of Madigan Army Medical Center. She was hired in 2021, after the legislature voted the position into law (RCW 43.60A.240).
