THIS EVENT IS 100% FREE!

YOUR Washington Department of Veterans Affairs LGBTQ+ Veterans Program is offering no-cost workshops as part of the Ally Program. These are interactive sessions that prepare veteran service providers with information to better serve LGBTQ+ veterans and family members.

The program consists of 3 workshops:

  • The LGBTQ+ Veteran Experience and LGBTQ+ Military History
  • LGBTQ+ Program, Definition of Veteran, and Correcting Errors or Injustices
  • Inclusive Practices

Upon completing all 3 workshops, you will be identified as an Ally for LGBTQ+ veterans. Someone that is committed to observing inclusive practices and providing a safe space to serve LGBTQ+ Veterans with dignity and respect. Your name/agency will be added to a list that veterans and other service providers can access on the WDVA website.

Workshop Technology Requirements

  • A computer that can access Microsoft Teams and has a working camera and microphone
  • It is also helpful to have a smartphone that can access the Internet for participation and interaction.
