Our 4-week Mobile Crane Certification Program is designed to prepare graduates for careers as NCCCO Certified Construction Crane Operators and Riggers. This comprehensive program combines hands-on training with in-depth classroom instruction to ensure that students are well-prepared for both the written and practical NCCCO exams.

Program Overview:

Students will train to become certified operators of Hydraulic Boom Mobile Cranes, and successful graduates will earn five NCCCO Certifications, including:

  • TSS (Fixed Cab Hydraulic Crane)
  • TLL (Swing Cab Hydraulic Crane)
  • STC (Service Truck Crane)
  • Rigger Level 1
  • Signal Person Certification

Hands-On Training:

Approximately 55% of the program is dedicated to fieldwork, where students gain practical experience operating various construction cranes. Under the supervision of NCCCO-certified instructors, students will:

  • Set up cranes and perform designed lifts
  • Practice smooth operating techniques and blind lifts
  • Rig loads using hook block and overhaul ball attachments
  • Learn rigging and signaling protocols
  • Conduct equipment inspections following safety guidelines

This hands-on approach ensures that students develop the skills necessary to excel in real-world crane operations.

Classroom Instruction:

The remaining portion of the course is spent in the classroom, covering essential topics such as:

  • ASME standards and OSHA regulations for crane operations
  • Proper crane setup and wire rope reeving
  • Load chart analysis and crane safety procedures Daily reading assignments and homework are required to reinforce learning and ensure students are fully prepared for the certification exams.

NCCCO Certification Exams:

In the final week, students will complete the NCCCO written and practical exams using the same equipment they trained on. These exams are crucial for obtaining industry-recognized certifications, which are essential for employment as a crane operator. The initial exam fees are included in the course, though a small re-testing fee applies if a student needs to retake any portion of the exams.

Refund and Cancellation Policy:

  • Students who are not accepted into the program are entitled to a full refund.
  • If a student cancels within three business days before the start of the course, they are eligible for a full refund minus a cancellation charge of $150 or 25% of the contract price (whichever is less).
  • Refunds for students withdrawing after classes begin will be based on the percentage of contact hours attended, as outlined in the program’s terms.

Weather and Equipment Delays:

Outdoor training activities may be postponed due to significant weather changes or equipment issues. In such cases, all efforts will be made to reschedule training and exam sessions at a convenient time.

This program provides all the tools and guidance you need to succeed as an NCCCO Certified Crane Operator. Enroll today to start your journey toward a rewarding career in the crane industry!
