This course is designed for mobile crane operators seeking NCCCO certification across multiple crane types, including:


  • Swing Cab (TLL)
  • Fixed Cab (TSS)
  • Lattice Boom Cranes (LAT)
  • Service Truck Crane (STC)
  • Articulating Boom Crane (ABC)
  • Articulating Boom Crane with Winch (ABW)


The course prepares students for the required written and practical exams, which are essential for obtaining NCCCO certification.


Course Structure:


  • Duration: 4 days (with a potential extension to 5 days depending on class size).
  • Schedule:
  • Three days of exam preparation.
  • Written exams are conducted on Friday.
  • Practical exams are typically held on Thursday and/or Friday based on enrollment.
  • Lattice Boom Crane (LAT) practical exams are scheduled separately from the course.


Important Information:

  • Registration Requirements: Complete registration one week prior to the start of the course. This includes purchasing the classroom session, core exam, and the specific crane specialty exam(s). If you are certifying for the first time, you must also register for the practical exam. For multiple specialties, ensure all relevant exams are included in your registration.

  • NCCCO Core and Specialty Exams: All candidates must pass the written core exam in addition to the specialty exam for each crane type.
  • Cancellation and Transfer:
  • A $750 processing fee applies to cancellations.
  • Registered students may transfer to the next available class by submitting an approved "letter of excuse" to NCCCO.
  • Rescheduled practical exams incur a $100 fee.


Payment and Late Fees:


  • Payment Deadline: All payments must be submitted two weeks before the start of the course. Candidates must also obtain NCCCO Candidate IDs prior to the class start date.
  • Late registrations are subject to space availability and additional fees.


Weather and Scheduling:


Outdoor events may be rescheduled due to significant weather changes or equipment issues. In such cases, efforts will be made to accommodate all parties with a convenient reschedule date.
