LETRS® Training for Teachers - Regional Structured Literacy Cohort open to any Public or Non-public teachers

Target Audience: K-3 grade classroom teachers, K-6 English Language teachers, K-12 special education teachers as appropriate, interventionists, related services specialists, literacy, or instructional coaches, and/or administrators. 

Description: The LETRS® (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) is an empowering professional learning that provides teachers a deep knowledge to be literacy and language experts in the science of reading. Using the Lexia LETRS® suite

participants will complete dynamic online learning with activities to reinforce concepts, watch videos of experts teaching, and learn practical ways to apply learning to the classrooms every day. The facilitator will support participants face-to-face with efficient pacing to complete online modules successfully, provide context and examples about the readings in the text, and guide them on using the Bridge to Practice activities to make necessary connections back to the classroom. 

Participants will be provided with LETRS training facilitation and ongoing technical assistance, additional guidance on how to apply activities in the classroom, and specific support to connect learning to successful implementation of Structured Literacy in their classroom. The price for new participants includes LETRS training for Volume 1, online materials, books, facilitation costs, and technical assistance.

Fee: free for public or public charter schools or Tribal schools, paid for by Read Act

Dates & Times: Members in the cohort will meet in person for four full days in the summer. There are 5-10 hours of online learning and reading between each gathering. Please note the dates of the in-person gatherings below:
