MEDICAL EMERGENCIES IN YOUR PRACTICE
The most common medical emergencies occur when there is an increased incidence of stress. Dental visits are perceived as a stressful event by most people, which means that everyone on the dental team must be prepared for the possibility of a medical emergency. In this course, we will review the background of medical emergencies, ways to prevent them from occurring, and how to prepare everyone on the dental team for medical emergencies. The entire dental office — doctors, assistants, hygienists, front desk personnel, and others —
will find this course to be a lifesaver.
OBJECTIVES:
Review the most common medical emergencies in the dental setting.
Describe preventative practices that prepare dental teams for the most common medical emergencies.
Recognize the signs and symptoms of patients who may be at risk for an emerging problem.
Describe basic and specific emergency medical equipment and necessary drugs.
Participants will earn 1 CEU for participation
