The 17th Annual YES Prep College Fair: 

October 12, 2023: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (CST)

Each year YES Prep ensures that 100% of Juniors and Seniors from all 16 of our Houston area high schools have the opportunity to attend YES Prep's Annual College Fair. We do this by offering our College Fair during the school day and providing transportation for all students to attend.

This year, the YES Prep College Fair will occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM with between 850 - 950 students attending for over one hour each shift. For students, this means you will have meaningful interactions with colleges, connecting with 10-15 colleges during your time at the fair. Schools will be attending the fair during the following times

Shift 1: 9:15 AM – 10:15 AM:

• Brays Oaks
• Hobby
• Northbrook HS

Shift 2: 10:25 AM – 11:25 AM:

• East End Secondary
• North Central Secondary
• North Forest Secondary
• Southeast Secondary

Shift 3: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM:

• Fifth Ward
• Northline
• Northside
• Southside Secondary
• White Oak

Shift 4: 1:40 PM – 2:40 PM:

• Gulfton
• Hobby
• Northwest
• Southwest

For Colleges: Why the YES Prep College Fair

Most school districts offer college fairs outside of the school day in the evening. These events have had declining participation even before the pandemic and engage younger grade levels and the most highly motivated students. Having the fair in the evening also creates barriers for students who work or have transportation barriers.  

For this reason, we offer our college fair every year during the school day in lieu of classes for one day to remove barriers to access. This allows 100% of our junior and senior classes to participate. This is one way we celebrate our district's college-going culture and promote our mission. 

College Arrival will begin at 8:00 AM, and colleges will have time after the fair to clean up and connect with YES Prep Staff. Lunch will be provided for colleges.
