About Youth SAVE for Young Adults

Youth SAVE (Suicide Assessment in Various Environments) for Young Adults equips professionals with the tools to virtually assess for — and intervene with — young adults ages 18 - 26 who have thoughts of suicide.

This training will educate and challenge you to:

  • Apply an equity lens to young adult suicide prevention and intervention, reflecting on how a young adult’s identity, setting, and strengths all relate to suicide prevention
  • Examine the processes and tools needed for evidence-based, adaptable, and relational interventions with young adults
  • Conduct suicide assessment and intervention with young adults
  • Co-create personalized safety plans with young adults
  • Identify and connect to local resources

A Youth SAVE training session consists of 7 hours of synchronous learning (two 3.5-hour virtual sessions) and two 1-hour webinars of asynchronous learning, completed independently.

This training uses Zoom and we require participants to have their camera turned on for the entirety of the synchronous class sessions. If you cannot comply with this requirement on these training dates, please refer to our website for other available dates. You can also join our mailing list by sending an email to youth.save@oraap.org.

If you have any questions or would like further clarification before registering, please reach out to Youth.SAVE@oraap.org.
