Leading Literacy Change:
Academy for District Decision Makers
Thursday, June 20, 2024
University of Iowa's Seamans Center | 103 S. Capitol St.
Iowa City, Iowa
The Iowa Reading Research Center is hosting a one-day academy for district decision-makers leading the transition to literacy instruction that aligns with Iowa legislative requirements and best practices.
The implementation of new literacy instructional approaches and strategies is a significant change that involves many individuals in a district. Successful change depends on strong, visible leaders who communicate well and often.
The purpose of this academy is to equip curriculum directors, principals, superintendents, and school board members with the foundational knowledge they need to lead change effectively. Attendees will gain practical tools and strategies to maximize the impact of the time, effort, and resources invested in the change. This training includes a digital tool to guide implementation management as well as networking opportunities with other district leaders at various stages in the process.
Join us on June 20th, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the University of Iowa campus in Iowa City at the Seamans Center, 103 S. Capitol St., Iowa City, Iowa to learn how to successfully lead your district’s transition to evidence-based literacy instruction. Attendees must register for this free event.
